Opening Our Play Areas

We invited our Friends of Roselands Team – FORS – to our assembly on Friday 12th May to thank them for raising enough money to build our new play areas.

They were designed and built by ‘DNA Play’ fitting into the natural surroundings that we are so lucky to enjoy around our school.

Lesley Drage, Chair of FORS, cut the ribbons on each of the structures, cheered on by the whole school. By the end of the day every child had enjoyed time on one of the fantastic new constructions.

Children wanted to say an enormous thank you. They say: it adds extra fun to playtimes, it challenges them to increase their body strength, gives them a fun place to share and communicate with friends and offers everyone huge chances to learn new physical things, such as the monkey bars.

Our Pupil Council have helped devise the timetable to use the areas and also shared ideas for playing safely.
